This post is for my children and grandchildren....someday. Just so they know what the daily life was about. I am not sure if this is typical day or not. I don't think it's untypical so I thought I'd share. Here's a run down of today.
7:00-- We got up a little late. Mike and I didn't want to get up but we do anyway. I turn off the noise maker and hear Chloe already awake. I go out to start nursing her and hear Ryan calling for me. (He always waits for me to open the door.)
7:45-- We finally get daddy to work. Kiddos eat home-made popsicles on the way.
8:30-- We finish eating "mush" with raisins and milk. I am excited that Chloe is actually starting to feed herself better. This is the only meal that Chloe really eats well. Ryan runs around the house looking for Mr. Peeps (our Christmas Elf). He was hiding above the toilet because Mr. Peeps is making sure that Ryan is going pee in the potty. (Yes...we are still working on that with Ryan!)
9:00-- I take Ryan to preschool. I have to coax him in just like every other time by telling him a surprise will be waiting after it's all over. He still hangs on my neck like I am leaving him forever or somewhere terrible.
9:10-- Chloe and I are finally leaving the Ryan's preschool.
9:15-- Chloe and I are running a million places. I feel guilty for hauling her all over the place but it's so much easier with just one! She hates the car but finds some jingle bells and is pacified.
11:00-- Done with the million places....All a Dollar, Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart. Now, we pick up Ryan, who doesn't want to leave preschool because he's having such a grand time! (This happens every time!)
11:20-- Eating lunch. Neither of the kiddos touch theirs really. Ryan eats some raspberries and Chloe smashes her's up and then gets them all over her pants. Ryan is too excited about his new "surprise"--Legos that build a fire truck.
11:45-- Chloe is down for a nap! I help Ryan with his new Legos. These are his first experience with them. We (by we, I mean I) build the fire truck and Ryan does quite time with it.
12:15-- I quickly prep dinner. Hmm......something simple, quick, easy. We are going to have tuna melts with carrot sticks and raspberries.
1:00-- Chloe is crying but I just want to sit. I go get her after 5 minutes. She is almost always a happy girl, except when she wakes up from a nap too early! Grumpy!!! I can't set her down. Brother Bear (Ryan) finally cheers her up.
1:30-- We are listening to a book on CD about animals while heading to the Botanical Gardens. Quick detour to pick up some night stands off of Freecycle.org. I love that site!
2:00-- We play at the gardens. It is so fun to be out with my kids. I feel like when I take them out I can just enjoy them. No distractions from the house. I can just give them my full and undivided attention. We play monster (I attack Ryan), practice climbing, throw Chloe in the air, feed the ducks, and watch the mini trains. We have to leave earlier than planned....Chloe pooped and I left the diaper in the car.
The kiddos! Dirty faces and all!
3:45-- Diaper changed. Back in the car with little grumps thankfully and surprisingly. We eat 5 clementines and 3 string cheeses on the way home. I think I just ruined dinner. At least the clementines were healthy!
4:15-- Home again, home again. I have the kids get ready for bed early. I make dinner but none of us really eat. We are all still full from the car. Ryan wants to watch a movie--Bob the Builder. I pick up the house while holding Chloe because by this time. She is a mess and just wants to go to bed.
5:15-- Pick up Mike! When we get home, we give him a little gift of 11 science experiments for him and Ryan to do together. He eats dinner while I put Chloe to bed.
6:30-- One down and one to go. We read scriptures and say family prayer. I read Ryan his 3 books, of course, he chose 2 long ones so I skip some pages and make up my own story. Then 2 songs and a story later and little boy is in bed.
6:57-- Mike and I talk for 3 minutes before I head off to a girls night out. I am heading to a Favorite-Things Party.
9:00-- Home from the party. It is so nice to just leave everything else behind and enjoy some ladies sometime! I am so blessed and lucky to have some really great people to be around in Albuquerque.
9:30-- Take Mahana (my dog) for her nightly walk. I call my sister but she doesn't answer. So I walk in peace.
10:00-- In bed with Mike, at last. We talk for 30 minutes, say our prayers and then I do my typical roll over that signals I am ready for bed. He tells me what he loves about me and then gets up to go do computer stuff.
10:45-- I can't sleep so I come listen to a conference talk. They always seem to help. Now it's 11:30. I think sleep will come easier. Good Night.
