Cold days can't keep fun away!

I had fun this past weekend with Alex, Elsie and Ashlyn. We went to Bridal Veil Falls, despite the freezing cold weather. Sometimes you just have to get out no matter what the weather is. The kids enjoyed playing with the ice. They became more and more daring as they crossed the water and as is expected someone fell in so that was the end of our trip. The ice waterfall really was beautiful though. Here are a few pictures from it.

On Sunday, Alex was ordained to the priesthood. It was a really neat experience. My brother Jason gave a beautiful blessing to Alex. I am so proud of the wonderful person Alex has become. It is crazy to see how fast he has grown up. I remember just playing peek-a-boo with him.

Here is our feasting after the event! Mike, Karen and Alex.

Any Ideas?

So for Christmas I got an AeroGarden, from my father in law, which is basically a sure way to grow herbs indoors without killing them. All you do is put in water when it tells you and a little nutrient tablet. Most of my herbs have done quite well. However, I do not know what do with so much mint and dill. Anyone have some good recipes or ideas? The only thing I know to do with mint is make mint tea and I am not a huge fan. I have really enjoyed my chives though. It is fun to have some green inside when everything else is looks dead out my window. Anyway here are the pictures of my little garden. I can't wait until the weather is good and I can start my porch garden again!

6 months along....

My mom came down to Provo and treated Mike and I to an all you can eat Chinese restaurant. It was very tasty. I over ate which is inevitable when going out so my belly got even bigger. I figured I should post a few picture for ya'll to see how I am growing. I am now just over 6 months so here are the pictures!

So right before my sister Becky went home to Switzerland my mom took us two pregnant girls for a little shopping. Here I am with my nephew little Bimmy (Baby James).

Life....

I always think my life is boring and that I am doing nothing so I thought I would blog about my boring and uneventful life. Here's the highlights from the last few weeks. Sorry no pictures...I am not very good at this!

Well, we started the Depression Recovery Program at BYU for the second year in a row last Monday! There were about 50 people there so that was awesome. Today we the second session and it is going wonderfully. My challenge for the next two weeks is to not say anything negative for the next 14 days. If I do, I've got to start over. It doesn't have to be positive either. I just can't say anything negative. :)

Two weeks ago I went to the "Successful Mothering Convention" http://www.successfulmothering.com/. I went with my dad, and sister, Jeanette. We had a booth on health, depression, and Juice Plus+ (www.broscheckjuiceplus.com). That was really fun, but at the end of the day I thought my feet were going to fall off! There were many excellent presenters and it is definitely something I want to do every year!

Finally, this weekend, Mike and I went to a Marriage Enrichment Weekend. http://www.marriage-enrichment.org/. Don't worry our marriage is going great, but my parents recommended this because they did it about 20 years ago and said they really liked it. It was really great. From Thursday evening until Saturday evening Mike and I got to just be together and not have to worry about school or anything else. I totally recommend it to all couples.

The stuff I do in between is go to school, study for school, read interesting books, cook, clean, go to the temple, yoga, and sometimes be just plain lazy! So now everyone knows what is going on in my life. As you can see this blog really is about me and not so much about Mike, but I love him!

Family Time

My sister Becky, has been in town from Switzerland for the last month and so our family has gotten together a bit more than usual. I finally took a few pictures.

Here's one of Jason (aka Boy), Dad (aka Edpa as he refuses to be called Grandpa), me, and Karen while we were hanging out at Karen's house.

This next one is of Grandma (my mom) and baby Bimmy (James, Becky and Brian's little one).

Other things-- Recently Mike and I have started school back up. Only this time Mike is now a graduate student! He is liking the extra time he has to do research and read. I am taking 4 classes; Human Development, World Religions, Personal Finance and a Parenting class. I am really enjoying them all so far.

It's a Boy!

We went to our ultrasound on Friday and we found out that we are having a baby BOY! We are both very excited. Another surprise was that I am apparently not really 20 weeks along. I am really only 17 weeks, which pushes my due date back into the middle of May. I am considering taking classes next semester so that is a huge blessing if the baby comes later. Any cute boy names? We have been thinking but haven't talked too seriously as Mike is very busy with school still. Come Christmas break we will be talking baby names. That's all for now.

Festival of Trees!

Today I went to the Festival of Trees with my mom, sister and her two kids. Here are a few pictures from our outing.

My niece was so darn cute. I had several people actually come up to me and ask if they could have a picture of her. She mostly gave them a dirty look as she is shy. We went quickly from tree to tree until we came to a Princess tree at which point we would finally stop and have to examine it carefully. My nephew was enamored with anything dealing with a train. All in all it was pretty fun.

One interesting tree was made completely out of glass. I took a picture because I have never seen anything like it before. There was also a tress dedicated to a friend from my old home ward that died just this last year. The Young Women from our ward made it for her.
