So we decided to build Ryan a tool/workbench. On Saturday, we went to D.I. and found a little table that is the base and then we went to Lowe's (one of Ryan's favorite stores. The other one is Home Depot.) to get the materials needed. For family home evening we learned about how we are suppose to work together as a family and then we started to work together.

We've spent the last weekish up at my parents house visiting my sister, Becky and her boys. We really had a good time, minus the fact that we all got sick. Here's a few of the things that went on.

Chloe looks like she's sleeping in this pictures...but don't be fooled. She was just closing her eyes for a second. Really...it was around 10:00 at night and she was wide awake!

We don't have very many pictures of Mike and Chloe so I made his sit down and take some a few weeks ago. I really like how they turned out.

My little girl is so beautiful. And...she's now sleeping 6 hours at night! Good girl too!

She's 8 weeks old now and I'm guessing a little over 9 lbs.

Festival of Trees-- tool related.

We went to the festival of trees this year with my mom. (I don't think I could've handled going with just the kids by myself.) Here are a few pictures of what we saw.

Ryan sitting on Santa's lap. He was very excited to tell Santa that he wants tools for Christmas. I thought he'd be scared but he got right up there. He was especially excited that Santa gave him "junk food."

After decorating hats and seeing Santa, we went in search of a tool tree. I promised Ryan that there would be one. Thankfully there were actually several. The coolest was called, "Grandpa's workshop." We spent 15 minutes looking at the tree and admiring all of the tools. All in all, a pretty good time was had by all.

Sometimes life is just so beautiful. I love my little boy. He makes life so happy and interesting!

Note: the past few weeks have been filled with more sleepless nights from Chloe and now Ryan has decided that naps are no longer for him. I am trying to find the humor in the small things because, if I didn't laugh....I think I would cry instead.

3 Weeks

Yesterday, Chloe turned 3 weeks! She is such a sweet baby. Morning is her best time. She is happy, content and very peaceful in the early morning hours. Although, at night she seems to want to be awake for a good 3-4 hour period and sadly, she is pretty much never happy at night. It seems like she gets a stomach ache just at night! Ryan still loves to hold her and talks to her a lot.

We are home from the hospital....actually we came home yesterday. Things are going good. Chloe sleeps a lot and then wakes up and has a feeding frenzy of at least an hour. Hopefully she's gaining some good weight.

Ryan came home today. He was very anxious to hold his baby sister. Here are a few pictures of them together. He kept saying, "She's so nice and soft. I love her hands." He studied her hands for a long time.

We've been eating a lot of fresh vegetables since we have a yard and a garden now. This was the pick from last night. Ryan ate nearly this whole head of broccoli raw. He sat down in his chair outside and told me it was time for dinner and that we were having broccoli.

Karen's Family Photos

On Sunday I went out to Karen's house and took her family pictures. About 5 mintues before we head out it starts stroming and then as we drive to the spot it starts raining. Karen has everyone get out anyway! We take a few picture and then as we are heading back into the car and everyone is wet the rain stops so I made them stay for a little while longer. Anyway, here are some of my favorites.

100th post and California

This will be my 100th post!

Aside from that we went to Idaho to visit Mike's family two weeks ago and then flew to San Diego to stay in a condo with my parents for a week. Here are some pictures of California. No pictures of Idaho.... I didn't take my camera with me.

All these pictures are on a beach. Ryan didn't want to get in the water. He's developed a fear for whatever reason so we had to hold him when we got close to the ocean. Silly boy.

Jaxson(my nephew) had his birthday while we were there. Ryan slept through the whole birthday party. He took a 3 1/2 hour nap that day and I ended up waking him up.
On the last day we were there we went down to the harbor. Ryan ended up feeding the pigeons and really enjoyed himself.

Thanks mom and dad for letting Ryan and I come vacation with you! We had such a great time.

Mike's sister, Christine and her family came into town just before we left to Yellowstone. We had a great time hanging out for a few hours and here are some highlights. Ryan had a really great time playing with his cousins. We just wish they lived closer!

Family Time

So we took our first real family vacation together this last week and had a blast! We went to Island Park, which is about 20 minutes from West Yellowstone.
Ryan and Mike at Mesa Falls.
Edpa and Alex happened to be in the area so we got to hang out with them for a day and go into Yellowstone with them.
It was windy at the geysers but they were very beautiful.

Ryan loves to be in his hiking backpack and it gave cousin Alex a good workout.
The next day we tried our luck at fishing. NO FISH in a kid's fishing pond but Ryan had fun anyways! Below: Edpa fishing with Ryan.

We also did a lot of swimming since our resort had a kids swimming area. Ryan said that was his favorite thing, but no pictures of that.

We had a blast and would love it even more if there weren't so many mosquitoes!

It's a Girl!

Enough said. We are super excited! I guess Ryan was right all along. We've been asking if he wants a sister or brother. Without fail, he said sister. Once we found out, we told Ryan, "It's a girl, you were right! You are having a sister." Then he replied, "It's a boy." I guess he was confused on what a sister is!

We are excited. I am finally feeling totally better...minus the extreme tiredness and the feeling of already being huge. I'll post a belly shot later but I am as big now as I was with Ryan when I was about 7 months pregnant.

If you have noticed that I haven't been posting then your right! First, October 16th is the due date of our baby! I'm pregnant and we are super excited! I've had bad morning sickness. It wasn't like this at all with Ryan. I'm headed into the second trimester so hopefully things start to get better.

Second reason for not blogging... We moved into a bigger house. It is so nice to have a yard. Everyday when daddy comes home from work Ryan and Mike go outside and work in the yard. This is Mike and Ryan digging out a horribly ugly, dead tree that was in our front yard.

Tumbling Class

Ryan and I did a tumbling class this winter so we could get out of the house. Unfortunately, for two of the five weeks it was going we were sick and didn't get out of the house. I love Christmas time! Everyone seems to a little happier. This Christmas we are starting some new family traditions.

1-Looking at Christmas lights....we just drove around while Ryan sat in the back seat yelling, "More Ites! More Ites!"

2- Make sugar cookies. Our ginger bread men didn't turn out so good but Ryan was excellent at the stars.

3-12 days of Christmas. We weren't very sneaky and David & Constance figured out it was us, but it's been fun.

4- Listening to LOTS of Christmas music.

I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I can remember right now.

SNOW

I've tried to get him to walk in the snow before....but he had his snow suit on so all he would do is cry and want me to pick him up. Without his snow suit on he LOVES the snow. Thankfully, he will actually wear little mittens. (He likes them because they have a dinosaur on them.)

18 Months!

Today was so beautiful outside. Ryan could have been without the hat, but since he was willing to wear it...we kept it on.

Recently Ryan has discovered the joy of going down the big slide! He pretty much shoots off the bottom! it is so much fun to watch. The picture doesn't show the end result of Ryan shooting into the "wood chips" (rubber).

Busy Week

This past week has been busy. First, we had our Trunk or Treat last Friday. Ryan wouldn't get down for the treat or tricking but when it came time for chili he got down. Mike was a black ninja, Ryan a cowboy...he would only wear a vest (and even that was difficult!).
I was nothing....It's not like me not to dress up but I couldn't think of anything.
Next, Halloween Night! Ryan is excited because he gets a bag. He actually started to get down at some houses and was knocking and so excited to pick a candy out and put it in his bag. Then, we came to a house with a man dressed as a leprechaun who was dancing around yelling, "Happy Halloween!" Ryan tried to climb up me! It took several houses and a few dogs later to get back down again.
Sunday afternoon shake. Ryan really knows how to cheese it up now.
Sunday afternoon walk with Daddy. It was such a perfect day and we hardly saw anyone out.

This isn't new though. Ryan likes to climb on everything. He was really enjoying the fences around the zoo to climb on. The kids had a good time at the zoo. Both came home and took 3 hour naps after!

Yesterday was a big day for Ryan. For the first time ever he wore real shoes!

He cried for about 10 minutes outside trying to get them off but Mommy prevailed in finding something interesting enough for him....A STICK to push around. (He pretends it's a truck or maybe a leaf blower?)

Here he is bring me things to hold...mostly seeds of one of the trees in front of our place.

Cake Anyone?

September is birthday season in our family and Ryan now knows what cake is and YES he really likes it. So, I didn't really let him have cake on his birthday--I didn't want to give him sugar yet.
Well, now that he is old enough to demand what everyone else is getting it's pretty hard to keep it away from the kid. I know the picture looks weird but he really was enjoying his cake. Thankfully, it was home-made carrot cake and yes, gluten-free to satisfy Jeanette.

Speaking of Ryan, I'll give a quick update. He is talking a lot more. Still doesn't say mama really! He does say truck, car, hana (for Mahana the dog), dog, duck, dada, and several other words.

He weighs in at a big 22 lbs. 3 oz. and 30 inches long.

He enjoys reading books, doing simple puzzles, playing in the car with his keys, going down the slid (if it's the big one he wants someone go to with him) and "helping" in the kitchen.

Today he learned to climb up and down on the kitchen chairs and was so excited. Every time he had a successful attempt he would start clapping for himself and saying "Yeahhhh!!" until Mike and I joined in.

This weekend our little family stayed at my parents house while they were out of town. Mike and I got to go on a date for our 4th Anniversary! I can't believe it's only been 4 years, on the other hand, I can't believe it's already been 4 years! Marrying Mike was the best decision I ever made.

We also went to the Tracy Aviary this weekend. There are lots of really neat birds there. Ryan really loves birds, especially Cranes (he kept going back to them).

California Fun

We had a blast in California. We only wish that Mike could have come along too! We really miss our daddy when we are away from him, but we were still determined to have a good time.

14 Months Today

We went to the zoo with Edpa yesterday. Ryan loved it. Here he is on the carousel. He smiled and laughed pretty much the whole time.
He knows how to point to everything now. When we got to the elephant-- Point, Smile, Ohh and Ahh. When we got to the Rhino that was just laying down doing nothing-- Point, Smile, Ohh and Ahh. Ryan just really loves any kind of animals. He gets so excited to pet a dog or see the duck out our front door.
I think we will have to be going back to the zoo often this summer!

So, Ryan likes to eat! That is really an understatement. He loves dirt, dandelions, grass, plastic.... When do kids grow out of the eating everything stage?

Here he is enjoying a green smoothie, we made last week, inspired by Edpa.

Ryan has had a cough the last few days and I started to get a sore throat so I am going to beat it by taking some garlic. As I was preparing to swallow my garlic cloves Ryan is hanging on my leg wanting up. So I put him on the counter while I continue working. He grabbed the garlic clove and popped it in his mouth. About a minute later the whole thing was gone. He ate 4 garlic cloves today! Who does that? Wow! This kid really will eat anything!

Front Door Flower Basket from a Wire Hanger

I've really been wanting something to spruce up the front door of our apartment. Here is my little flower basket.
What I Used:
-Wire Hanger
-Coconut Palm Liner ($3.00 @ Wal-Mart)
-Twisty Ties (the annoying ones that make it impossible to get your child's toy out of the box)
-Permanent Magic Marker
Total Cost: $3.50 including flowers.
I went with the flowers I did because they only need partial sun and my door doesn't see much sunlight. If you get full sun you could put some really beautiful flowers in.

Coasters

I wanted to make some coasters that would match my home decor. (Do I even y have a home decor? Not really, but these would be the colors if I did.)

So this is what I came up with. Super Simple and Cheap!

I got the cork mat from Walmart in the gardening section for $.83.

-Mod Podge your choice of paper on the cork mat and let dry.
-Finish by spraying with a protective gloss.

11 Months Old

Ryan turned 11 months while we were in Switzerland. This is the best 11 month picture I could get with his little Tiger. That kid really HATES being on his back.
He really enjoyed playing in the sand.
Ryan can now stand up by himself and is taking steps and he is really working on walking.

Ryan has done very well on the adjustment coming back from Switzerland. He is basically already back on his normal schedule. That might be because he didn't sleep on the plane from Paris to Atlanta. How can a baby go 18 hours without sleep? I don't know! I sure wanted to sleep. So basically when we got home that kid fell into a comma of sleep.

Me on the other hand....well, let's just say it's 3:30 a.m. and I've been up for a few hours already! :)

Thursday, April 8, 2010:
Arrive from long flight, happy to see Becky and very tired at about 2:30 p.m.
Once at Becky's house James, John-Luke and Ryan are all very excited to see each other that they are just hyperventilating and jumping up and down.
We head to the store to grab a few things (yummy bread among other items).

Ryan goes down around 6:00 p.m., however, he woke back up at 10:00 p.m. and didn't go back to bed until 2:30 a.m. Long night for Mommy and baby!

Friday, April 9, 2010:
Scheduling all the boys is proving a bit difficult. The only real time we have to take all of them out is in the afternoon after the baby boys have their second nap. So today we mostly chilled. Ryan and I caught up on some missed sleep. In the afternoon we went to the "sandbox park" where Ryan tried plenty of sand and enjoyed himself quite a bit.

Saturday, April 10, 2010:
Since Ryan and I slept in 'til 10:30 a.m. we decided to stay close by for this weekend.

We headed over to France to Mt. Le Saleve. We took a gondola to the top and then watched the parasailors run of the side of the mountain. Ryan especially enjoyed this. There was a nice green hill that we played on, then back down we went.

That night I was spoiled with cheese fondue and for a treat chocolate fondue with strawberries! YUM!

And here I am. This is a random picture by the Mayor's building close to Becky's house. We were on a walk in the evening, hence, the bad lighting.

The Flight

DAY ONE:
I'm going to try and make this one quick. The flight over here was pretty bad. First, our plane in SLC was delayed and so we ended up missing our Seattle flight to Amsterdam. So I get on the phone to Delta as Ryan plays in the stroller and explain about having a baby and so they are kind enough to set up a new flight out that leaves in 6 hours to London with British AirWays. Ryan wouldn't sleep because there was too much going on, so we just crawled around the airport. The appointed time comes and I move over to the area to board the plane. The ticket lady explains that there is something wrong with my ticket and they'll have to talk to Delta and they have me sit aside with Ryan. Everyone else boards and then they tell me, "Delta didn't give you a ticket for your son so we can't let you on this flight."

I go talk to the people at the ticket counter to try and figure out what the heck I am going to do now. They say, "We can fly you to Detroit at 11:00 and then you'll have a 3 hour layover and then you'll fly to Paris." I tell them to just get me a hotel because my baby needs to sleep and so do I. They won't pay for a hotel because somehow this was all caused by WEATHER! (Don't worry it's perfectly sunny outside, no weather problems all day long!)They assure me that tomorrow I can get on the flight with Ryan to Amsterdam without reissuing him a ticket. By this point Ryan is crying pretty hard so I pay for the hotel and get Ryan to sleep by 10:00.

DAY TWO: (Still in Seattle, even though I should have been to Switzerland at 4:00 in the morning.)
I get Ryan and I breakfast at a Denny's close by and realize I didn't pack enough diapers for the rest of the trip we have to make. I ask where the nearest place is to get diapers because I have no car seat. It's a 10 minutes drive. I run with Ryan to the grocery store and then run back because he is crying because he's so tiered. We now have enough diapers to last plus a few bananas and apples.

I arrive at the airport two hours early like I am told. Huge line. 45 minutes later I am told that my baggage is still at the airport (That would've been nice to know last night so I could have had something clean to wear!) I have to go get my baggage downstairs. I go get my bag 50 lb bag and 20 lb. bag along with Ryan and our two carry-ons. I'm now rushing as I don't have much time....and TOO LATE! They have problems with Ryan's ticket again and I have to repay for Ryan and they put me on a flight back to Salt Lake City, then on to Pairs and then to Geneva.

Anyway, this is the quickie version and the longer one includes me racing through the airport, Ryan crying, me counting my breath so I don't yell at some poor person behind a desk and other such happy moments.

Ryan actually did extremely well considering how little sleep he got. On the way from SLC to Paris he slept 4 hours and then another hour from Paris to Geneva. I really only had a few major melt downs.

DAY THREE:
We finally arrive. Tiered and worn out but we are here. Once Ryan got into Becky's house the boys just sat there all bouncing together and running around because they were so excited.

Before we leave I thought I'd give a quick update on what we've been up to. We tried to make it outside whenever weather would permit. So here's our last week in pictures.

My little Gardener

I went out to garden the other day with Ryan. After Ryan saw what I was doing he insisted on take the shovel from me and trying it himself.

I have another video that is much better of Ryan but I just can't stand my voice in it. Do you ever annoy yourself? Anyway, it's Ryan we all care about!

Super Easy Baby Cookies

Don't these look fun! My mom says the green ones look like creepy crawlers. In any event, Ryan likes them and they are healthy!

So I experimented a little to find a good "teething" cookie/cracker. And I found a simple one that is fun too.

*1/2 cup rice flour (I use rice flour b/c it doesn't have gluten.)
*1/2 cup rice cereal (I haven't tried it with home made rice cereal.)
*1/2-3/4 cup puree fruit or veggie
*1 1/2 T. olive oil

Preheat oven to 425. Mix flour, cereal and oil and then add in your fruit/veggie. Now you have two options. Either roll out the dough and cut into shapes like you would cookie dough or you can use a pastry bag and make fun shapes that way. I did both and will both again.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.

*Here I have featured yams (the orange ones), green beans (the green ones) and pears (the white ones). I plan to try bananas, and carrots soon. Hope ya'll enjoy! I know Ryan certainly has.

The Aquarium

Today we went to see the penguins at The Living Planet Aquarium with Mike's mom, Pamela, David and Constance (brother and sister-in-law) and Constance's mom, JoAnn. We had a great time, aside from two tired babies and the crowds. Featured above are a few pictures from the day. There were too many cute pictures to choose from so I chose them all! My favorites were the penguins, of course but I also LOVED the tropical and jelly fish. Hope ya'll can make it there sometime.

10 Month Update

Uncle Boy (Jason) came over on Sunday. I've been wanting to do some freezer meals, especially as I'll be gone for over 3 weeks and fear Mike will eat nothing but fish sticks. Boy and I made like 15 meals in 4 hours plus two batches of Zucchini Muffins and Coconut-Almond power bars. Everything turned out excellent. Nevertheless, I was beat when I was finished. Thank heavens for Mike watching Ryan.

Fun with Daddy

We got some new blocks which Ryan and Mike like playing it. It is especially funny to Ryan if you put the block on his head.

Ryan and daddy also enjoy playing with the stacking cups. Ryan just can't stand it if anything is stacked and must promptly knock it down.

Walking...Well Almost

Ryan is learning to walk with the help of a chair. He did this last night for about 10 minutes straight. We made a little "track" for him around our living room. Notice the rug rolled up. Ignore the messy house-- at the end of the day it always looks like a tornado has been through. We call the tornado RyRy.

Kick the Can

My dad was over yesterday. He kicked an old cup laying on the ground and Ryan burst into laughs. Here's the result. He laughed for like 10 minutes. Thanks Edpa!

Here are some other random pictures. Yes that is a stick in Ry's hands and Yes, it will go in his mouth later. I think it's better than the alternative though--DIRT and LEAVES!

9 Months Old!

Wow, I can't believe it's already been 9 months. Well, Ryan is standing on his own a lot more and still crawling everywhere! He really enjoys now taking all of my socks out of my drawer.

He now opens drawers and cabinets and LOVES to take everything out of them.

Isn't he so dang cute! I just love his new P.J.'s. His little feet have monster's on them.

He's getting so big, especially next to his Tiger.

California

Here is our trip to California in pictures... And a few words. Ryan was pretty tired at this point and didn't give a hoot about the ocean. We drove down to Cali. with my mom and stayed in Las Vegas to break up the trip for Ryan. He did very well on the drive and slept much of the way. Mike was wonderful and stay in the back with Ryan the whole trip and kept him happy.

On Saturday, we went to the Wild Animal Park. Super cool! It reminded me of Africa.

At the wild animal park they have a bus tour you get on that takes you to see all the animals. It's basically like going on a Safari.

On Sunday, after church we headed back to the beach. Once, we put him on the sand he promptly picked up a handful of sand and stuffed it in his mouth.

Lexi was wanting to go home at this point and take a nap.

This is Lexi molding the butterfly I painted on her face. The other side was a unicorn (I didn't take a picture of it b/c I don't know how to paint unicorns).
The worst of the trip was Ryan not taking a nap for one whole day. He maybe slept for 20 minutes. This has never happened to him. Needless to say he went to bed REALLY early that night!
For Valentine's Day, Mike and I celebrated on Saturday and went out to a Thai restaurant. We have really liked Thai food lately. It was nice to get out just by ourselves as that very rarely happens now. Thanks for babysitting Mom.

Now for Alex's Birthday! My nephew Alex Welch, turned 13 yesterday! I can't believe it, it seems like just a few years ago he was so little and fat-- now he's taller than me! In celebration we ate cake, and opened gifts. In this picture I'm standing on my tip toes, but I promise he really is taller.

Naps...

I love nap time. Not only because Mommy needs a little time out and needs to start dinner but because Ryan wakes up so happy after a good nap! He is all smiles.

Right now Ryan is asleep for the second nap today. His first nap was 2.5 hours long. Way to go RyRy!

Tuna Melts

So for dinner last night we had tuna melts. To adjunct this less than optimal meal I did make us a salad as well. Basically what I am trying to say is that I am in dire need of meal ideas! I need something quick and semi-healthy. I am a do-it-from-scratch kind of person. I really don't buy stuff from the box. However, times like yesterday (when Ryan decided to only take a 20 minute nap and then wake up poopy) happen and that's when I need something quick. PLEASE leave a suggestion if you have one.

8 Months

7 Months!

Well, it's been a while since I've posted and a lot has happened...birthday parties, trips to grandparents, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It seems in one short month Ryan has exploded with activity. We have now "baby proofed" our house-- as if there is such a thing-- because Ryan is everywhere!

First off, Elsie (my niece) had a birthday and we came to help celebrate!

Daddy and RyRy hangin' out. It was pretty loud there and Ryan really didn't know what to think about it. He also desperately needed a nap but since he doesn't sleep outside his crib...

Mike and I took Ryan to the Festival of Trees. I wasn't as impressed this year with the trees. That might have been because I was carrying Ry the whole time, he was getting fussy, & it was super crowed so we really just walked by the trees quickly. No the less, it was beautiful and a favorite tradition of mine during the holidays.

Ryan really loved bath time! The first time he stood up by himself (holding on to something else of course) was in the bath.

I love this picture of him peeking out! We often play peek-a-boo in the tub now.

Ryan has become a professional crawler, sitter and stander all within one month! I can hardly believe it. He's into everything, except his toys. I am not even sure why we bother. In all actuality he would prefer a good book to tear the pages out of and eat up or a plastic bag. He just can't understand why mommy won't let him have those yummy things!

We were able to go visit the Grandparents in Idaho this Christmas because of the good weather. Here is Ryan snuggling up with Grandpa Roscheck. If you know Ry then you know this is truly a rare occurrence.
It was so great to see everyone there as we don't make it up there as often as we'd like. Thanks for the wonderful time!

Ryan has also started on solid foods. He loves bananas and avocados and could care less for rice cereal and apple sauce.

Merry Christmas! Christmas morning we spent at home for the first time ever. It was nice and relaxing. We drank hot coco and played with Ryan.

Then we headed up to my folks house for the rest of Christmas day. Here's Grandma Fila and Ry.

And lastly, here is Ryan playing with one of his Christmas toys. He likes his toy because he can stand up and it makes noises. He usually plays with this toy for about a minute and then is on to something else but a minute is a long time to such a small little guy.

6 Months!

Well, here is the picture update for this month on Ry Ry.

As you can see he is getting bigger next to his little Tiger.

This is his attempt to sit up. He is actually pretty close to doing it by himself now. But for the most part he'd rather be crawling around getting into all the stuff mommy doesn't want him to get into!

In this picture his daddy is making him smile. That is why he's not looking at the camera. The rest of the time, he's pretty much memorized by the camera. I have to keep pushing him back or else he grabs on to it.

This is of today. I found him getting into the clean laundry that I was working on putting away. He actually spit up all over the basket, thankfully very little made it to the actual clean clothes.

Well, there is an update on Ryan. As for myself.... I have been house hunting for Mike and I. I find the houses and then Mike and I go and look at them with my Mom. I think I really enjoy the real estate and maybe I will get into that more. We'll see. Well, Happy Thanksgiving ya'll.

The Zoo!

As a small child my dad would take me to the Utah Hoogle Zoo. I have a lot of wonderful memories there. Since last week had good weather I decided to take Ry to the Zoo with my dad, nephew, Jaxson and niece, Lexi.
Ryan had just woken up from his nap in the car and he was a little grumpy in this first picture.

We got to see a baby elephant. This reminded me of Africa. In some of the places that we stayed you could just look out from the eating area and see wild elephants. Often there would be 5-10 of them and always some babies.

The end of our zoo trip was the train ride. This is a much anticipated event for little Jaxson.

Well, as you can see Ryan is now a little factory of drool because he cutting two teeth now. The other night we were visiting my parents and my dad was holding Ryan. Ry's whole shirt was covered with his drool.
Other than that, Ryan has been up on his all fours and then he continues to lunge forward.

I love Ryan's face in this next picture. We went outside while the weather is still nice and Ry is investigating the leaves. By investigating I mean eating the leaves and dirt.

P.S. Anyone following me about this house we have put an offer in on. The bank finally got back to us yesterday and accepted our offer. We are now beginning the process of accepting the house, but Mike and I are so excited!

Cousin Alex had a band concert and we went. Ryan enjoyed it until the last number which got a little loud and then he burst into tears and we went home.

5 Months Old!

Wow, I can't believe how quick it has gone! We love our little Ry Guy so much! Here are some happy pictures of him from this past month.
Of course we have to have the shot with him and his Tiger. But in the next one he is actually bending his legs! This is unusual for our little stiff guy.

Here he is getting a toy, except that the camera distracted him.

Last, here is a video clip of Ryan eating his toes. This is a new favorite thing. He has also learned to now roll from his back to his front and he is getting closer every day to crawling! So far he just sticks his bum way up in the air and face plants it, but we cheer him on and he keeps trying.

Pills....

It seems that any ill we have now a days has a pill that we can take to cure it.

I went to the doctor's yesterday for a routine check up, while talking it came out that I am tired (nothing to do with a new baby being around) and I asked to have my iron checked. By the end of the conversation my doctor is trying to convince me that I have postpartum depression and that some anti-depressants will really help. (Apparently, he had just come from a conference that said 30% of all women have postpartum depression and even though I don't fit the "classic" case, I could probably get more energy by taking the drugs.)

So I asked my doctor if there was anything else I could do! He had a few suggestions but came back to the drugs. Just for everyone's information there is A LOT you can do besides drugs. I saw God today...

There is a song with the lyrics, "I saw God today," and the guy talks about all the ways in which he saw God, mostly through the birth of his baby. Well, today was one of those days for me. Our car has been dying and we have been looking for a new one. After looking for several days and looking at our finances we came to the conclusion that we really can't afford a very good new car. So we implored God for help.

Fast forward to this morning where for the first time since Ryan's birth I went to the gym. As I am walking out there is a guy working on the junkie car that has been sitting in the same spot since we have moved into our apartment. Well, I introduce myself and ask if he needs a jump. He tells me he is a mechanic, then I explain about our car dying and he offers to fix it later in the day after he is done with work.

Fast forward again, I am feeling a little down today and then my sweet husband comes in the room and gives me a back rub. :)

Fast forward again, Ryan laughs really cute when I tickle him.

Finally, Mr. Car Fix It Man, Oscar, shows up and fixes our car. Mike just bought a new hose and it is as good as new for under $30. (Definitely within our budget!) I give Oscar a brownie, some home grown tomatoes, two CDs on health for his mother who has hypertension and what little cash I have around and call it good.

Well, God really does hear our prayers, He knows us and watches out for us and I am sure glad that I saw God today. :)

Okay, now on with Ryan. He was four months old yesterday. 14 lbs 2 oz. 25 inches long. He's been rolling over very consistently now for about two weeks. Only from his stomach to his back and he sleeps through the night very well. Last night was a glorious 10 hours! Here is his 4-months pictures. Isn't he growing so big!?

Alright, so everyone says that Ryan looks like his daddy. So I thought I'd post some pictures of new born baby and then daddy. Here is Ryan still in the hospital.

Here is another picture at the cabin. I didn't get out much with Ry. He really only has about an hour of wakefully where you can really "do" something with him and driving really isn't an option because most of the time he is just mad when he's in his car seat.

Here is cousin John-Luke, who unlike Ry, seems to fall asleep wherever just fine and he does so often.

I did manage to get a picture of him asleep in his car seat. This was after a long while of crying that he finally fell asleep.

Two months already!?!

Ryan had his two month check up on Tuesday. He weighed in at a big 11 lbs. 1/2 oz. I can't believe how quick he has grown! He has grown out of some of his 0-3 month outfits and we are into the 3-6 months. He is however, looking cuter and cuter each day. We have noticed he is a little camera shy though. He try to record him smiling and cooing at us but as soon as the camera comes out he stops and just stares intently at the camera or starts to fuss. Despite that, here are some pictures of him from this past week.

I am assuming this will be my last post for a while as we have family coming in town this next week (we are blessing Ryan) and then it is time for the Fila annual Family Reunion. (This just means we all gather at the cabin in Jackson Hole for some games, yummy things to eat, hiking, and fishing.) I will be doing very little of the hiking and much of the gaming and eating of yummy things! I can't wait!

So Big!

I find it difficult to get tummy time in because Ryan is really happy right after he eats. If I put him on his stomach then, he is covered in spit up in two seconds. Later, he is tired and then is really grumpy about stuck on his stomach. Anyway,

Nothing cuter than a boy and his dad! My two favorite people in the whole world. Everyone says that Ryan looks just like his daddy.
David and Constance (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law) just had their first and they recently moved to Provo. Here is Ryan and little Jade. I can not believe that Ry ever used to be that little! Isn't she such a doll!?

I am such a slacker. We have had this picture for quite some time. Mike's dad took it when he was down visiting. Anyway-- Here is the family picture. Again, my pictures are in no order as I can't think that far ahead as to what I will say about the pictures.

Here are just a few more pictures of Ryan. They change so quick. I can't believe how much he has grown. At 7 weeks he weighed in at 10 lbs. 4 oz. and was 23 inches long.

This next picture was a fluke that I actually got it. I wish I had the video going because then you would have heard the explosion that went along with this face!

This last weekend we (2 of my sisters and I) went to visit our Grandparents. Ryan got to meet his Great Grandma & Grandpa Green.

Six Weeks!

Well, Ryan is 6 weeks old today! It is really crazy how it seems my life has never been without him. We love him so much. Here is Ryan with his new stuffed animal Tiger. Below is the stuffed animal Monkey we sent off to cousin John-Luke in Switzerland.

Sleeping like an angel.

Ry is either a belly sleeper or a side sleeper. If you put him on his back he will wake right up. This is a picture of him after falling asleep during tummy time. It was last night around 12:30. I was so dang tired but he just wouldn't go to sleep so I figured I would try to tucker him out by putting him on his belly. He wasn't happy at first and finally gave up and went to bed! Thank Heavens!
